About
The Urban Physics research group studies how citizen data can be used to study urban heat islands. New data from smart weather stations in Tampere and other Finnish cities shows the urban heat island intensity in Tampere reached as high as 8.1 C. This illustrates how big data and IoT devices are able to inform urban environmental exposures for climate research.
