Within the last 50 years, the consumption of goods and the range of products in average supermarkets have skyrocketed, while the lifecycle of products has simultaneously shortened. The spread of single-use culture has resulted in myriad environmental problems that cannot be solved by mere recycling of materials and products. During this session, we will address the new modes of project design, production, retail, and consumption needed to shift from mass consumption towards a culture of reuse, repair, and longer product lifespans
