About
Finland is experiencing a hydrogen boom, with numerous large-scale production facility projects being announced across the country. As part of the green transition, hydrogen is seen as a key enabler for decarbonizing industry and transport. While the environmental potential of hydrogen is significant, the rapid increase in its production and use also raises questions about safety. Hydrogen is a highly flammable gas, and its storage, transport, and handling require strict safety measures. As investments in hydrogen infrastructure accelerate and new people come onboard, ensuring robust safety standards will be essential to avoiding incidents and building public trust.
